why does anyone use Dameon tools honestly? I know it was the best for a long time but there are free alternatives for 99% of our uses Im using Virtual Clone Drive on Windows 7 7201 X64 bit it's free mounts My issues and does the job without spyware!
VCD doesnt allow bin/cue and some other image formats. Doesnt eumlate any cd protections. Also had bug problems with VCD on 7000 personally. Yes there are other options for disc emulators, but none with the full package as DT.... with no spyware btw...

Hmm according to their site and my use it does support BIN/CUE

    • Supports all common image formats such as ISO, BIN, CCD
    • Supports up to 8 virtual drives at the same time
    • Easy to use - just double-click an image file to mount as a drive
    • Virtual CloneDrive is freeware, you may use it at no cost.

I think Dameon does more for sure but I tell you what if your having problems with Daemon and I thought the lite had ads!?? try virtual Clone Drive.

Only if you dont read what you're installing. Untick the toolbar option during install and enjoy DeamonTools Lite fully with no ads!

    U3 Launchpad

    ...that makes me laugh
one more thing i've noticed working on this build is the U3 enabled flashdrives from Sandisk. The U3 Launchpad is now compatible and fully operational

Question, has anyone tried SQL Server 2008 on Windows 7? Anyone successfully running a SQL Server instance, with client tools? My next "expirement" is trying out Oracle 10g.

    Thanks.

I've noticed that the 'Picture' default as changed yet again.
    Attachment 13141

    The double-click action of Image files done the following;

    7100 - Preview
    7127 - Preview
    7137 - Edit (MS Paint)
    7201 - Preview

Also, in 7137, when opening files from within apps (e.g. MS Paint) you get the preview pane open by default, the same for anything being uploaded. Now the preview pane is gone again

Another thing....Has any1 noticed the varying file sizes for the lates releases?

Only x86 screenshot, but 7201 is the smallest of the RC/pre-RTM releases.
I just found the old 7057 build... its size

you are correct... at the time i fooled around with both VCD and magicISO... believe i had to, or atleast try, both because one didnt support what the other did. tho, in my mistake, i believe it was more the magicISO that was the bugger. that was many moons ago. Nevertheless, DT supports most if not all common and not-so-common image formats. If not mistaken, maybe it was the .img that VCD couldnt load... i know it wouldnt load a .bwi or .nrg or mds/f . I think we are in agreeance about that.

UltraIso, gizmodo, winmount, poweriso and probably a few i'm forgetting like 120% emu and so on support ALOT more formats than just the "usual standard"

I have read that it is working, but I suggest that you install SP1 just after initial setup.

sorry but Virtual Clone Drive allows CUE/BIN. The only issue is that these extensions are not listed, you have to select "*.* (all files)" to open them.
