    Double taskbar items

Hey guys. This is my first post after browsing the forums. The issue I am having is when a taskbar item shows TWO "icons" for the same window. For example:

MSN messenger main window is open. TWO links to the same thing are showing. 1 for my display picture, and one for the main window, but when I click on them, they both bring up the main window. Anyone know why this is?

    Thanks

Is it two separate icons, or icons that are in front and behind each other?

it's strange because it looks like one is the main messenger window and the other looks like an open message window but you say they both open the main window? i haven't got messenger installed but it does seem odd

I had this problem before and i think it's a messenger problem.
Try running it in Compatibility Mode as vista

edit: and then i think you can right click the icon on the right of the taskbar and 'hide when minimized' or something like that. I ditched messenger a while ago. Just going off of memory
