You can repair on the one computer that had the system installed. The OEM is tied to one computer for a lifetime.
If the OEM was supplied with the computer, it is tied into that computer only.
Yes you can. Oem just means for that pc only. I asume since it is a repair install that it will be the same pc? Good luck to you with your problem![]()
OEM is a license...not a disc-type. The discs are the same....it is the license key you put in once you have the system up and running that determines the differences.
Thanks folk for the information. I don't need to use it now. Just wanted the information if I need to later. If I understand I can do this with this OEM disk as long as the operating system are the same and I use that computers license key.
Thanks to ALL contributors that have been so helpful in the past, and to the website from which I have learnt so very much as well as having been helped out of the "Quagmire" on many an occasion; I would sincerely like to thank you all for your responses and replies to my enquiries, at mostly times that I have needed help urgently. Hence the reason why my contributions have inevitably been short and brief. Now I have joined the "Senior Citizens" group {a few years ago} of admirable people, I now have slowed down somewhat, which allows me more time in which to show my appreciation. So thanks once again for all the pleasurable times that I have shared with you all. Peter Mc.
