Would it be legal to share a technet account?

I was tossing around the idea of going in with a few users here or friends and buying a Technet account.

Since we are legally allowed to have 10 licensed copies of each application whats stopping me from having 5 people pitch in $50.00 each and getting 2 licenses each for all these apps in our home/test beds?

I agree it could be an issue if someone stole the keys but I think there are ways to login and generate they keys and distribute them.

I have no problem putting this on my Credit Card and opening up some slots for people to join me and pay $50.00 each for the licenses (and or login).. Has anyone else thought about this?

I think that the 10 lic copies are for "testing" and I guess tecnically its not "legal" to share whats to say that they are not testing as well. I have wirked in shops where the 10 Lic. copies have ended up on 100 machines and no audits were triggered.

Id say its sort of gray

Yes, for sure ask about a GRAY area.
I simply make sure that in my case on Other beta test areas. than I have
"my family" listed. I have a son in Washington state, sister in wichita, brother in Kansas, son in ??? all over, and lots of cousins.
All I was ever ask NOT TECHNET> was If they are your family they should know your email address. other personal info is (IMHO) none of there business. One comp allowed me 35 keys, most only allow 5 or 10.

Ea to there own.. suggest you read there rules and regulations.

I suppose your a SPOOK for Technet. since the answer as NO. Other wise, folks every company corp has its own set rules and regulations. Highly recommend you read them.
Then decide for your self if legal or not.

Can I use evaluation software received in my TechNet Plus subscription at home?

Huh? Where do you get the idea of "10 licensed copies"?

As for "rules and regulations", I assume you're referring to the TechNet license: TechNet Plus Subscriptions License Terms

My reading of it is that one licensed user gets to install as many copies as they like on equipment they use/own. For the duration of that license (ie only while they subscribe to TechNet).

Thus, I would decide its not legal. But hey, feel free to decide otherwise, just dont blame the naysayers when you get caught.

Sure, other beta programs may operate differently. But TechNet is providing full non-beta versions of MS software too.

Fine, but there's a world of difference between software with or without time limits (such as Windows 7 release, vs Win7 beta/RC) and the license to use said software.
