    Windows 7, generally impressed.

hey just wanted to say I am generally impressed with Windows 7 so far, it has been very stable, and apart from a few minor issues where I had to revert back to old vista drivers, no complaints here, just going to test out my usb audio card to see if that works now, fingers crossed! ps looking forward to ubuntu 9.10 with eucalyptus cloud computing for private clouds, does anyone know if windows 7 will have an private cloud functionality?

Glad to hear another person without any major hitches when going to Windows 7. I personally enjoy it much more then XP and Vista. I have had a few problems, but even XP had the occasional problem here and there, but nothing that i couldn't fix in windows 7.

I don't know it very well yet but so far, the little I know about Windows 7 I like it much more than Vista... Bar None.

I feel that 7 is less congested than Vista, quicker reaction times for everything... I use it mostly to play First Person Shooter Games, Browsing the Internet and the ocasional burning of a cd or DVD for the kids.

Start up and Shutdown feels a lot less bloated than Vista even though I think I have more apps or software installed on 7 than Vista.

I have not really touched the eye candy side of Ultimate or x64 bit OS in either Vista or 7 so I can comment anything there, although, it does appear that Vista has a little better EyeCandy than 7 and I am really ok with that

I would have to disagree there. Aero Peek is awesome.
I cast my vote for 7 in that category

It should be enabled by default, unless you have not done WEI yet.

Right Click Taskbar > Properties > Preview desktop with Aero peek.

Well, first of all Hi, so far my first post here. Win 7 still has minor glitches in my machine, but nothing special that i believe it could be fixed with the coming versions. I like it and a lot, so far everything reacts very fast and precise. The only reason thats bothering me now, was the mogration from 4gb to 8gb. The system reacted in a strage form, crashing everything and lots of apps and games stopped working. im still researching, and trying to get some stability. If the problems remains i will probably open a thread. Cheers to everyone, sorry for possible bad english.

    4gig > 8gig Problem

    Hey MorbidGod

Welcome to sevenforums. There are tons of resources and people willing to help so dont hesitate to ask questions. Dont worry your english is plenty good enough.

About your new crashes. Is all your ram the same speed, the same munufacturer, and in the correct slots on your machine. does your system recognise the entire 8 gigs?

    hope this sort of helps.

    Thanks.

Yes, all Gskill @ 1066, CL5, pk version in double-bouble-channel (4x 2gb). Same volts and timmings. 8gb fully recognised by Bios and OS. I think its maybe a coincidence, the games and apps i chose to test, are still being optimized to Win7. Some of them are now running due to searches im doing here.
But i still have that strange stability lack in the overall. I mean, things sometimes just fly to open and sometimes i got strange things going on like i cant install the Ati CCC now, just the display driver....

Thaks in advance for the help, i think in a matter of days iŽll have this glitches fixed.

You might want to run a scandisk to check your HDD for faults. Lose of information could cause this to misbehave with applications.
