    Multi-Monitor Taskbar Support

Any suggestions to deal with multiple monitors in Win7? I was using UltraMon in Vista and really liked what it did. With all the changes to the taskbar in 7, UltraMon has lots of issues.

Is there anything new in 7 dealing with the taskbar (across multiple monitors)?

    Thanks for any help?

I don't think a solution is available for dealing with the Taskbar across multiple monitors yet.

You could write Microsoft a nasty arse letter telling them they are dumbarses for not implementing something that hundreds of people have contacted them about since 2002! (probably way earlier but I can't back that up) and I am sure thousands if not tens of thousands of people would use it, just not all of them are as mad about it as some of us that write Microsoft letters begging them to please actually LISTEN to the users.

Not from Microsoft - there are 3 major players in that dept - one is old, only uses old Windows 200 style bars, another is Realtime Soft UltraMon which costs like $40 and the third is DisplayFusion: Free Multi-Monitor Desktop Wallpaper Software | Binary Fortress Software which is both free and shareware (free version is feature limited, but even the limited version packs a wallop in terms of features, including multimonitor taskbar support (although it still uses only a Vista style taskbar) and many other features as well.

I bought the app ($15 CAN, roughly $13 US) and am now helping to Beta test DF on Windows 7 - it is a beautiful app. And, since it is free (you are not *forced* to buy the paid version) I'd suggest you give it a shot. If you like it enough, contact the author about wanting to help Beta test on W7 and buy the software and he'll email you pretty quickly (usually within 24 hours).

Hmm, I'll check it out. He needs to get it to look like win7 though, and then I would pay for it instantly.

I'll convey that to him right now - but I don't think he actually has *access* to Win 7 as of yet, so that could be an issue....

Also, btw, if you are around, I can pass along my WLM / Skype username(s) so we can talk more directly and I can show pics easily.

I have a fellow Win7 'user' who wants the secondary taskbar to look like the native Windows 7 style - I am assuming (and I told him as much) that you probably don't currently have access to Windows 7 - is this correct? Or is it possible to get a Proof of Concept in having the taskbar note which OS it is in / which type of taskbar is being used and match it?

I might be able to do better than that - I *did* download dual copies of the ISO from the NGs,and I have both of them - I suppose I could send him one of them....

Since there are no keys involved, I think I'd be in a lot less trouble if it were to get out what it is in the envelope than if I sent him additional things like cracks / hacks / etc., right?

I would agree with you. I felt the same way in a similar situation a few weeks back with 6936 and BlueBadge :)
