I dont know if this is the correct section to ask this,but here is my question
My CPU is Phenom X4 64bit and I'm thinking of changing the windows 7 from x86 to x64 version.Will there be felt some extra performance and will there be problems with the compatibility(Adobe Masterpack CS5 and old games like WarCraft 3)

Compatibility wise, there should be no problem. Performance wise, unless you install more than 4GB RAM, the performance difference between 32bit and 64bit Windows is minimal (64bit Windows will perform a bit worse than 32bit).

AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core 2.60Ghz
4GB of Ram
1GB NVidia Ge-Force GPU

You should be able to benefit from 64 bit, especially if using Adobe CS5 and are handling large files. However, in order to realize that particular benefit (esp. in handling large files), you will need to increase your RAM.

With enough RAM, and 64 bit capable software installed on you PC yes i see enhanced performance. I updated to Windows7 Pro x64 and I have steady 150 fps no matter the lag drops, before it would only just hop between 80 130.
I think his question was as is...will it increase performance, IMO no.
With more RAM, software designed for 64 bit (especially photo shop or Excel with HUGE files) than yes.
Not sure if that was directed to me, but my statement only was basically implying 'depends' as the choice word for will it increase his performance, I was just saying the difference of upgrading from x86 to x64 from my POV (point of view) to maybe help him understand. There are all sorts of ways to explain things out there
