Will a 32-bit OEM key work with a 64-bit install?

We have a new laptop (Toshiba A665-3DV) and I was surprised to see it installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 32-BIT. I think it must be 64-bit because it has 6 Gb of RAM. Now, I can only use 3 Gb of it. Also, the graphics card is 1 Gb and I think it counts too. Now, it has a OEM sticker under it and I'm thinking of a clean install of a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit version. The problem is I'm not sure whether the OEM key stuck under the laptop will work when I enter the key for a 64-bit install.

Thanks!

When you buy the 64-bit DVD, it will come with a Key. Use that to activate the 64-bit DVD.
Buy the Upgrade Disk, not OEM. == You might also consider taking it back where you bought it and ask for the 64-bit to be installed.

Otherwise, borrow a 64 bit disk from a friend or download a clean copy off the web, then install home premium and activate with the COA key.

If the disk is some other win7 edition, you can unloack all editions including home premium on it.

If online activation doesnt work, you can call call MS.

Those recovery disks will install the 32 bit OS, pre-installed drivers and pre-installed apps including Toshiba crapware. If your computer came 32 bit, 32 bit is what will be installed, not 64 bit.

When I booted up the recovery disk, it lets me choose between 32 bit and 64 bit.
