Help! Windows folder been compressed :S

    Hi Guys,

I've recently installed a 60GB SSD drive into my computer and it started to run out of space very quickly, even though im only using it for apps and no media or storage.

So looking for ways to increase space i deleted some files and then came across the 'compress' feature for the hard drive, which i think compresses every file to save some space. when prompted it asked me 'compress c: files' or 'compress c: and all subfolders' and i basically chose to compress the c: and all the subfolders and i just let it run overnight.

just turned my computer on this morning and it got past the BIOS startup screen then had a black screen with white text saying:

    DVXQF is compressed
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart

so all i can assume is that its compressed the windows folder and now everything needed to boot-up is unreadable. does anybody know a way in which i can fix this without having to reformat and reinstall windows?

    Thanks in advance

Well, though I haven't used that windows' feature, I assume that the files are compressed in zip format. So you should be able to decompress the using a linux live cd such as Ubuntu which can be downloaded from Ubuntu homepage | Ubuntu
