So I just put the Windows 7 DVD in and it will boot from the DVD?

"follow the steps in the first tutorial to mark Windows 7 partition Active, then mark D Inactive. Partition - Mark as Active" The tutorial from Brianzion?

Disconnect D: with power down.
(1) You need to tell the bios to boot from the DVD it may do because it is probably in the bios boot list and C: won't boot.
But generally do either
(2) keep hitting F12 when booting and a list of boot devices will appear - select the dvd and press enter
or
(3) Enter bios set up when booting and change the boot order so that the DVD boots first

Try (1) first. When c: is fixed it will then boot.

PS worry about D: later just disconnect it
PS to the PS - as stated C: must be marked active.

I just realised you probably don't have a second PC and are still booting through D: of course with D: connected. I probably confused you.
Leave D: connected until you have that bootable partition CD ready to go.
