    is there really no way to trick the taskbar to expand to all screens?

    like tell windows that there is only one screen while really having three.

    no virtual desktop software can deal with that?

    maybe use a virtual machine on top of a powerful computer?
    for most tasks that might work well.

    ultramon and displayfusion are nice, but not even near to taskbar.

    Unfortunately not, you can use 3rd party software but you'll have to google it as my brain has shut down LOL

    If i can think of the best 1 (Power... something) i'll post back

    Two programs come to mind;

    Oscar's Multi-Monitor taskBar

    And MiltiMon or ultramon.com

    Has anyone tried this? Is it decent?

    Sounds like it had some problems but it may be good some day. Is that day here yet?

    Ultramon doesn't work on Windows 7 but an even better program that works perfectly is Binary Fortress Software DisplayFusion Pro

    This is what my taskbar looks like with DisplayFusion 3.0.6 and I think it sounds like what your trying to achieve.
