Selecting multiple windows in taskbar

I've recently migrated from Windows XP Pro to Win 7 Ent and now I see that it's not possible to Ctrl+Click on taskbar to select multiple windows and then e.g. close them all via context menu.

I'm wondering if this is something that can be configured in Win 7 just like it worked in Win XP?

Any way to get multiple windows to appear on the taskbar the way they-
- used to? I like the old style, where you can see all windows seperately on the taskbar. Now, with W7, all windows are in one "pane" (for lack of a better way of putting it), and it's kind of annoying when you have 6, and 7 winows oepn. Is there a way to revert back to the old behaviour?...
