I thought he already had it fixed last night.
So I never posted the cure.

In fact James Colbert already posted one way to do it.

Well, I really do not have the Pin to taskbar option. Do I need to do a tweak to have it?

System Restore would be the easisest way.
Pick a time and date before your brother messed with it.

If he did it say yesterday, Thursday morning pick a restore point from Wednesday.
You won't lose any info and it will put everything back to that point in time.

Just in case.
System Restore

I can't find anything but the System Restore to get it back.
I'm sure there is a way but...?????

Hello Vaynard,

If you do not have the Pin to taskbar option when you right click on Windows Explorer in the Start Menu like in the screenshot below, then download and merge the lnk (LNK) option in the tutorial below to add it back.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

Hope this helps,

Thank you Brink, I downloaded the LNK reg file, did what the tutorial said, and I now have the option to pin explorer back to the taskbar! Yahoo! Anyway, why didn't I have the option by default?@.@

You're most welcome Vaynard.

By default you do. If the shortcut arrow overlay icon is removed using the improper XP method of deleting the IsShortcut registry entry instead of the Windows 7 method, then this would be one way this could have happened.

I tried typing libraries in the start menu and tried to pin it to the taskbar, but there wasn't any option to pin it to the taskbar(only pin to win explorer). How can I pin it back? Any help would be appreciated.
Windows doesn't put a libraries folder on the task bar by default. If you had one there, someone pinned it there. Like all icons on the task bar, they are pinned shortcuts. Your libraries folder hasn't gone anywhere, someone just unpinned it. BTW, can you actually pin a library the the task bar?
Actually this one folder is installed on the task bar when you install Windows 7 (Technically it is a shortcut to Windows Explorer and not an actual app icon). You can then pin other folders to this icon on the taskbar.

Uhhh, so how do I improperly delete it in xp method that removed that option?@.@ I use tuneup utilities by the way, maybe that was the culprit?

Most likely it is. I like METHOD TWO in the tutorial below to change/remove the shortcut arrow.
