Html & htm file icon missed

    Hello everybody,

When I set Chrome as my default browser I lose the icon of htm & html file types. However, in another computer where Chrome is the default browser, I do not have this problem.
I’ve done everything I found online but still nothing happened. In the registry the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ChromeHTML\DefaultIcon is set as it should be. (same as in the other come that doesn’t have the problem)

For your information note that I installed the windows yesterday, therefore it is a fresh installation.

    Any help?

    Thanks

    Christos

Download XN Resource editor (free) from HERE and have a ball.

Hello roban and thank you for your reply, however, I have not understood what I am supposed to do with this software. It is a windows problem that the icon for html files is corrupted.

Uninstall Chrome with Revo Uninstaller Freeware (advancd mode); scan for leftover files folders and entries . Noe install it again .

Not that this is a solution, but several well-respected online resources just named Chrome the buggiest freeware available. I believe Max PC was one.

i have tried the Revo Uninstaller Freeware but it does not do the job. Additionally Revo Uninstaller does not remove all the entries of the uninstalled software from the registry.
And I did test it thoroughly…

It cleans the leftovers for me .... anyway, you may try CCleaner to clean your registry hive after uninstallation of Chrome . Then install it again . It should be fixed then .
