Customize notification area bug.

    Customize notification area bug.


    If you have an app that has/had a system tray icon, the option to hide it etc. remains in Customize Notification Area Icons after the program has been uninstalled.

    There is an option in CCLeaner to remove these old entries

    I used CCleaner to remove two reg entries for an offending uninstalled app, the problem still reamins.

    Sorry,

    Not clear in my first post

    this actual option clears the cache as part of the normal cleaning :)

    You can use the tutorial below to reset the notification area icons to remove the old icons from uninstalled programs.

    Notification Icons - Reset - Vista Forums

    Hi barman, tried it with that box ticked in CCleaner and sorry to say it didn't work.

    Sorry to here that - it's always worked or me

    Only proviso with this is you have to re-boot after applying this to make it work
