    introduction

    ...er, hello. (there, I said it, as instructed.)
    My name is Midas, because everything I touch turns to SCHYTE; having broken my two previous computers, I was forced, by market/social pressures, to buy a new one, only to find that the vast amount of technical knowledge I have amassed over the years in Windows XP has been rendered totally obsolete. The new one is Windows 7, which is strange and new, and v confusing.
    The first problem I had with W7 was with an outdated Kodak program, which, by coincidence, matches my camera. Finally got that fixed, by eliminating all trace of it from the face of the universe;
    Next problem swiftly appeared; New computer announced that the colorscheme had been altered, (from and to what I have no idea), and quoted program qttask.exe, Apple Computer Inc PID 3176.
    Does anyone know what this means? Is it serious? As can be seen from my registration form, I am not too strong on technical detail of my new PC.
    Cheers and best wishes,
      My Computer

    qttask is from quick time player that Apple makes, you can adjust the color thing with out worry, just update your software as needed (always recommended) and your good to go.

    also I would suggest posting your question in the proper area for better assistance, and welcome by the way...and welcome to all new members!

    Hello Everyone.

    My name is Steve, and I've been using windows 7 for about 15 months now. I went from Windows XP to Mac OSX 10.5 and stayed with Apple for I guess 23 months. I was never really to thrilled with it, but I put up with it since I thought Vista would be unusable (although I never used it...poor decision on my part). About 15 months ago I bought a Dell Zino for a few hundred dollars, and I saw what I missing. Then I decided to take the 2500 I was planning on spending on a new macbook pro and purchased a Sony Vaio Z Series Signature Edition. With dual graphics cards and and Raid0 SSDs I saw what I had been missing while being a mac user. I am now fully back in the windows world and much happier. A couple of weeks ago I bought a 10in Asus Netbook to complete my PC needs. I am currently studying Computer Science in college.

    Looking forward to being here.
