search field missing from start menu

    search field missing from start menu


    this is what happens when you let other people play with your computer...

    how do i get it back?

    Just reinstall windows search in programs & features
    & reboot then

    Yes.

    If Windows Search is removed from components, then you lose search box in start menu altogether.

    Disable it in 'services' if you don't require it, this will keep the actual search box present in start menu.

    well um i used a duplicate file cleaner and now when i search in the start menu the results that always appear doesnt. For example: before i used the duplicate cleaner when i search for panda antivirus it appears but now after using it when i search for panda it says "no search results found" (ill be back by tomorrow need to sleep)

    well its not exactly the prob. stated on the thread but could you help(time to sleep)

    Hello Amber,

    Did the program have a backup and restore option that you could use to undo what it did?

    If not, then you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you used this duplicate file cleaner may be able to undo this for you.

    Thanks Man but unfortunately right after doing that i used ccleaner's wipe free space function.
