Open any Explorer window, on the menu bar** click Tools > Folder Options... > View, check to see if you have "Launch folder windows in a separate process" activated.
**If you can't see the menu bar, click Organize > Layout and check (tick) the menu bar option first.
B.T.W, with Nod32 AV and Mbam installed you'll have one of the cleanest (safest) machines about!! I would just add WinPatrol to that, Scotty does what he says he will, a good little guard dog.
certain apps and programs seem to open another explorer.exe
end both processes and then in task manager
hit the file tab
new task
type explorer.exe,ok
There is nothing wrong. Look at what fimble posted. Some programs may spawn another process of explorer.exe. Just check its running from C:\Windows.
Download Process Explorer ... it will show what program is using explorer.exe
