This. It's the blame the messenger game. I worked with some bad installs myself; usually replacing some drivers or other software fixed the problem. There were certainly hiccups here and there but nowhere like people exaggerated.

I remember the XP transition very well. Because I hung onto 98SE for years after XP came out. Didn't help that it was quite the time for malware. People who think XP was a magical smooth upgrade from 95 were probably end users not in charge of their own machines (i.e. people who used them at work, leaving the dirty details to us IT staff) or didn't even use computers much at the time.

We didn't get into Vista much and by the time HQ got around to planning a mass rollout 7 was on the horizon and had much glowing press. The only issues we're having with 7 is replacement for obsolete software due to the migration to x64.

Yeah,, let's talk about the whole Activation Scheme introduced with XP.
Man were people in an uproar. Which had a lot to do with so many sticking with Win2000 which was a corporate version of Windows. Or sticking with 98SE on that reason alone.

Yeah, I love those who really don't know the history, or have completely forgotten the transitions back then and how wonerful XP is and they will never change from it to 7 cause of all the bad things they hear about it and from ex-vista users who got burned by the OEM's.

Gotta love it.

It still doesn't include a matroska splitter or a .rmvb splitter or support for .flac or . . . well it's pretty good, not perfect though.

Too true!

Maybe it's just me, but of all to Windows versions I've used, I've never understood by people bashed Windows ME or Windows Vista.

My list (from now, moving back in time) is as follows:
  1. Windows 7
  2. Windows Vista
  3. Windows XP
  4. Windows ME
  5. Windows 95
Please notice that Windows 98 (either edition) is NOT on the list!

I really start to love Windows 7 hehe
OMG Title. Currently, I really start to love Windows 7. The main reason? RAM usage! There's currently running RAM in-between : - 2 folders - Firefox - Windows Live Messenger (+ 2 conversation Windows) - AIM (+1 conversation Window) - Foobar2000 - Vuze (Aka Azureus)

If you love Windows XP, you’ll hate Windows 7 Posted by Ed Bott My colleague Jason Perlow has been playing with Windows 7, and he hates it. The sad thing is, all the things he hates are improvements, in my opinion, which just goes to show that you really can’t please everyone. But what’s...
