Major problems deleting registry keys...
I have a USB key that I need to delete. I have properly set the owner and permissions for full access. No matter what I do it does not work. It tells me error deleting key. And to add insult to injury, every time after I try deleting a subkey, windows adds a subfolder under that key's folder!!! This is pure insanity. I have tried setting the ownership properties for all the subkeys but when I do that it says it was unable to change some of the subkey properties... This is an endless circle. None of the normal techniques work. At this point the only option is to delete keys outside the regedit tool by hacking the system. Doubt I will get advice on how to do that... In any case, looking for some clever tips, as normal methods are not working...
thanks,
brian
