Hibernation

    Hibernation


    It was easy with xp but now i can't set up my computer to hibernate when i press shift key.How can i do that with windows 7? Help would be appreciated

    You could use keyboard remapping software like SharpKeys then map a key to do shutdown /h /t 0

    That will force an immediate Hibernate.

    There are many other keyboard remappers, that's just the first one I found via a Google search.

    Hello Mil0s,

    If that fails, here's a hibernation shortcut that you could use and assign a keyboard shortcut to if you like as well.

    I actually found another solution.I opened a command prompt and typed POWERCFG /HIBERNATE ON and i also disabled Allow hybrid sleep option and now i can find hibernate in my start menu.Thanks anyway

    How does that give you a one click Hibernate though?

    Not sure really i just followed these instructions i found on the web
