no search field in the start menu

The Search option in features is checked, restarted several times and still no search field in the start menu, although the search option is still checked. What could possibly be wrong?

    Thanks is advance!

See if Windows Search somehow was uninstalled.

Open Control Panel, click on Programs & Features.
Click on Turn Windows features on or off in the left pane.
Scroll down and place a check mark in the Windows Search box.

If it's already checked, you could try uninstalling it then installing it again by removing the check, clicking OK then doing it again only put the check back.

Have a look whether this might help: Windows Search - Turn On or Off
