    Sticky Notes won't start minimized

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I'm running 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate, and cannot get Sticky Notes to open minimized despite going to:

Right click: Sticky Notes --> Properties --> Shortcut tab --> Run --> Set drop down menu to: "Start Minimized".

On system boot up or logging back on, Sticky Notes come up Maximized on desktop. Any suggestions would be welcome. I've tried setting startup to "Normal Window" but this doesn't make any difference.

    Hello Bernie,

Unfortunately Sticky Notes is either running and displaying on the desktop, or closed. It doesn't support being minimized.

You might see how the free program Stickies may work for you with this though.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Hi Shawn,

Thank you very much for your quick reply to my post and for that link and input re stickies. I have downloaded his program, and the problem is fixed.

    Happy Christmas, Bernie

    Hi,

I know this is a bit of a late reply, but I know two ways to Minimise sticky notes in Windows 8 and I *think* that one of these methods works with Windows 7.

In Windows 8 (and I think in Windows 7), using the "Show Desktop" keyboard shortcut: Win + D clears the Desktop and the sticky notes are available in the Task Bar.

In Windows 8, Sticky Notes can also be Minimised by using the new, enhanced Task Manager. By expanding the Task Manager item for Sticky Notes and then right-clicking on the lower Sticky Notes item, there is an option to Minimise:

Perhaps, some bright spark like Brink can use this to create a small app that can toggle the Sticky Notes by toggling a registry setting

    I hope this helps.
