Windows 7: My Documents - Why are these Folders Here?

I don't know why yours is going to a different place then what was intended by Microsoft, but they do state the the new design calls for the pst files to be put in the Document/My Documents folder.

If your pst files are located somewhere else and you do an upgrade, it appears 2010 will use those pst files instead.

At this point in time I guess you'd have to ask Microsoft why? We're just using the information they post.
