    More clicks?
How would that be - compared to XP?
If you have pinned the program to the taskbar, I cannot think of anything more expedient, whether it be XP, 7 or linux, than holding shift and clicking.

well.. let say in XP i have a notepad button on the taskbar, i can open 10 notepads with 10 clicks, now if i have to use 2 hands to do this, that is really bad!

and if i want open ten IEs, it would all be on the taskbar; including all my programs in quick-launch, the auto-hide stuff(safely remove external stuff etc), sound, battery, time dates etc... everything on one thin bar.
and on top of my screen there's another bar with back/forward arrows home refresh stop, then files to help, then address bracket, then google search bracket.

only 2 thin bars!!!!! thats all you need!!!! everything is fasterly/easily accessed and hella lot more viewing space!!!!

now they have the extra thick top bar, then files to help bar, then the command bar, 3 times waste of viewing space and buttons all over the place nailed down not customizable.

i need to upgrade to XP, <edit>

oh... IE6 can give me the thin top bar.... but not 7 or 8
now they're taking away my bottom bar.....
even if i stick with xp, i won't have the my top bar now.....

is ie6 prown to viruses? if anyone can tell me how to make ie6 protect against viruses etc... i would stay with xp and ie6.

i love my 2 bars..... customized the way i like. don't like the newer thick rigid not efficient dumb bars.

let it be truely customizable.....!!! ok ? ok? ...ok?
    why won't you???
why is the house so dam far away from the star??? and why are those 2 away from refresh and X(stop)??? those should be right next to eachother.... should be customizable let us all put place it where we like it. why can't you? why won't you?

If you want quick launch all you have to do is create a folder named Quick Launch in documents or somewhere your not going to see it and then place all the short cuts in there that you want.

Then go to the taskbar right click and add new toolbar then direct it to the folder you just made now unlock the taskbar and move it to be positioned under the other one and now right click on the new toolbar and deselect show text and show title.

Also right click on the taskbar and go to properties and use small icons and ungroup tasks now you should have something that resembles what you were looking for, also if you have vista you could put the show desktop short cut on the desktop and then save it to a usb and then place it on your new quick launch bar in windows 7.
