    Welcome
Check cmos battery..A bad battery will cause other problems when it dies
    You can lose settings, etc.

Thanks. Is there any alternative than checking bios battery and replacing?

If there is no alternative than how to check it?

    Thanks a lot!
As “ur link” reads: “If your computer seems to "forget" the date and time whenever you shut down, the culprit is probably a weak CMOS battery” – my computer doesn’t forget but it keeps the same time.
I have a home computer for more than 3 years and I’ve never had any complaint. About a month ago installed windows 7 and that time failure appeared. So I doubted whether that was win7 failure or not.
    Appreciate ur help

Your situation is unusual although, not unheard of.

For the wont of a Pound, Euro, Dollar, a new BIOS battery, usually in my experience a CR2032 type, is not going to break even my bank.

As you say "I have a home computer for more than 3 years and I’ve never had any complaint". So the battery is hardly new. I have a 7 year old car, one day it doesn't start, but it was OK yesterday. I still have to walk, catch a bus, until I buy a new bit to replace the old "OK" bit. Things fail and sadly, never on their own, always when you've done something else so to cast that doubt in your mind.

I have upgraded many machines from XP to 7 and each time I had this problem with the clock, I needed to flash the BIOS with the latest version. Fixed it every time. -WS

There is only one thing that I or anyone else can tell you. The CMOS battery is usually the cause for your problem
