Windows 7: System32 opens when it shouldn't!

System32 opens when it shouldn't!

Hello everyone, my problem is that system32 folder opens when it shouldn't and things that should happen won't happen when it opens. I've encountered this problem only in the task bar and start menu so far. I've also tried to restore my PC to the earliest restore point, but it didn't help. I first noticed this problem with Windows Live Messenger. Here are some screenshots that I've edited:

Things that are inside red rectangles do not work when I click them and only open system32 folder.

However, not all of those do that, for example Paint:

Here are some examples from task bar:

Things inside blue rectangles work as intended.
As you can see, some things work well and some not at all.

Finally, here is system32, the folder which opens every time I click one of those things inside red rectangles.

My PC is Acer Aspire X3400 (or AX3400) with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, AMD Phenom II X4 820 quad-core processor, 8GB DDR3 memory, 1TB hard drive and NVIDIA GeForce GT320. I've scanned my PC with McAfee Internet Security Suite which came with the computer already paid for a month or two, avast! Antivirus free and quick scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

Is this system32-problem something I should be worried about? How can I fix it?

Thanks in advance, and please let me know if something missed from my post.

Acer installs a version of MyWinlocker suite which includes a trial version of Egis Tec File shredder.

Uninstall Egis Tec File shredder, it is the cause of that problem, even if not used.
Everything will be normal afterward.

I have contacted both Egis Tec and Acer but have as yet to receive a response.

Operating System : Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 6.01.7600 SP1 (x64)

Perform a SFC Scan

1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow

2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

A message will appear stating that 'The system scan will begin'. Be patient because the scan may take some time

3. If any files require a replace SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Windows 7 DVD for this process to continue

4. If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"

5. After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

more information here How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7.

If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected. For example, some Windows functions may not work, or Windows may crash. The System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) scans for missing or corrupted system files and repairs them.

Thank you, both of you! sfc /scannow fixed something, but that didn't help my problem with system32. However, I moved EgisTec Shredder folder to the trash and now this works. However, Windows Installer tries to install Shredder when I click on something that didn't work previously and now works as intended. How do I prevent Shredder from making a comeback? EgisTec Shredder *must* die!

Run the installer for MyWinLocker, it will give you the option of uninstalling the Shredder.
