task manager will not open. I looked at old post but nothing there worked

Did you got some error message or?
And try opening it with Ctrl+Shift+Esc

Try to run the taskmgr.exe directly from the system32 folder.

Pls elaborate more on the problem like when does i happen, everytime or any particular time. Do other ways as told by above folks work?

No error messages. Ctrl+Shift+Esc does not do anything and taskmgr.exe does not do anything. Problem occurs everytime I Try Ctrl+ Alt+ Del

Run sfc /scannow in elevated cmd.

Can you open other tools like registry editor, msconfig, system restore?If yes, then first try system restore to the date when this problem wasn't there.If this doesn't help, try running sfc /scannow.Or it could also be that task manager has been disabled (either through registry or group policy).

Hi.. I attempted to right click on csrss.exe in Task Manager Processes so that I may identify this item, however, when I right click, window pops up (as with other apps). When I click on properties or open file location, nothing happens. Same results with winlogin.exe. Any thoughts?
