One account, no password box.
Okay, I am finally resorting to posting and asking for help because I have exhausted all possible solutions and resources that I could find. Here is what I am facing:
I am running a dual-boot setup of Windows 7 Ultimate, one x64 and the other x86 (the 32-bit one is there mostly for when I face compatibility issues, since my system has 4GB of RAM and it came pre-installed with the 64-bit version). My primary partition runs the x64 version, which is my main OS, but I am facing a really annoying glitch with my user name at the welcome screen.
In the 32 bit boot, the welcome screen loads and my account picture is shown maximized and the password box is already highlighted, so all I need to do is enter the password and I am good to log in. However, the 64 bit boot loads with my account picture minimized (as if there was another account available), and I have to click on it or press the Space bar to get it to show me the password box so I can log in. This wouldn't bother me normally, but I just recently did a clean install of both boot configs and it has only been since then that this has been a problem. Previously, my 64-bit welcome screen would load normally and I wouldn't have to select the account manually.
I have spent countless hours online trying to find a solution to this problem, and I have still not been able to do so. The only difference between the two configurations is that I connected to my local HomeGroup with the 64-bit OS, and I have since left it and disabled the associated services, but I have not been able to restore the default login screen. I can't remember if this issue existed before I joined this HomeGroup or not, so I don't even want to restore my computer that far back in case that wasn't the problem. I am posting this with the hope that someone will think of something that I might be missing because I have been obsessing over this stupid issue for way too long.
Hopefully this makes sense, and I will try to find some screenshots to demonstrate what I am talking about. Thanks in advance for any help that you can give me.
