Well in my opinion Windows itself is bloatware, especially when it comes preinstalled on a computer as it comes with even more junk you dont need, or eat up space for BS OEM files.
In a standard windows 7 install you need at least 20GB alone for the OS, and that is not including updates or any apps you may need installed.
What the heck is all that space used for anyway, what data files for all the fancy window effects?
For me bloatware is something that likes to chew up space for no reason, 7 is no exception.
Well, that was one of my points. People complain that it uses 20GBs on their disk, but most of the systems you buy these days come with a 500GB disk (or at least 320GB) - so does it eally matter?

I think all the criticism of bloatware is bloated. Granted theres trialware and stuff one has no use for- but given the time we spend tweaking, tuning, customizing and generally examining our respective computers, its a small deal to uninstall a few needless programs. As for registry entries and leftover folders, apps like CCleaner do a pretty good job- in any case the registry has 1000s of entries and a few redundant ones are immaterial. And remember, bloatware has a commercial side too- it brings down the final cost for the end-user.

    Agreed.

I'll also add "bloatware" is in the eye of the beholder. One man's bloatware is another's treasure.

Not common now, but in the day all new computers had AOL...ended up deleting the folders to get rid of it....
