    Hi aaron,

Nothing as yet that I've seen from Comodo, although with the current state of my internet connection (or lack of it ) I may have missed a mail but don't think so.
am still monitoring mail for info from comodo and will post if and when I hear anything

    Hello Airbot,

Still nothing from Comodo as yet but have been checking things a bit myself,

the address its listening from is 127.0.0.1 and the remote address is 0.0.0.0 so as far as I can see it's not making any attempt to get external to the machine . this does not make any sense unless the "listening" is part of it's activation process.

I've run it for quite a while and all AV scans come back negative even when its running so I am going to assume it's safe

Very strange Nigel. I've noticed that the little iReboot utility from EasyBCD also is listening. Don't exactly know why this is happening.

I have since pinned the flip3D shortcut to my taskbar and also in my context menu.

    Hi Aaron,

This may well be a way of checking for activation triggers but I just don't know. A I've said I've seen no suspicious activity from the application, so am still using it

I have Flip3D assigned to one of the side buttons on my MS mouse. Works well in 7.

    Hi all,

I'm the developer of this utility. I'm glad to see that you like it! I saw this forum when checking out some of the recent referring URLs and I just wanted to address the concerns over the application's TCP status in process explorer.

The .NET Framework 2.0 includes a feature called the "Application Framework", this feature makes development easier by automatically handling some of the more tedious (and boring!) programming tasks required for certain program behavior.

The framework was enabled for Flip 3D Activator to make it easier to enforce a "single instance" of the utility. (To avoid any mess from having two or more Flip 3D Activators trying to activate flip 3d)

Enabling this framework enables something called remoting (not just for this reason, but for others as well), which is a way for processes to communicate with each other. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is through local-only TCP connections (hence the "listening"). It is listening for a new instance of the application to tell the current instance that a new instance was launched, just in case we need to handle that for some reason. (We don't, other than telling the new instance to exit.)

I hope this clears it up!
