    Remember I suspected the deleted desktop.ini to be the cause for my problems? It was not. It was due to a bug in Opera
    DSK-321901 Opera creates a file called desktop.ini and places it on the desktop

    iconcache.db reset (deleted), computer restarted, no luck.

    OK, I'm through. Screw that. It's not worth it. I just set my Open/save window to be huge so I can see most of the files at once.

It keeps reverting back to details view and sort by name. Nothing seems to affect the view settings on the optical drive. I switched from General to Music to Videos and the view settings stay the same. Is this a bug with Windows 7?
G'day, I just got my new computer with Win 7 64bit and while looking at the folder settings I couldn't find the nifty feature that used to be called "Remember each folder's settings of view." in Vista. Does it no longer exist? Is there a way to have this function? It would be a bit of a bummer...

How do I rember view settings in windows 7? E.g I would like some folders to be viewed as list by default so everytime I go to that folder unless i specify it to be thumbnails it will be in list view
