Well here's a stab in the dark. I had a similar problem to this and solved it thus. Open the website that contains the file you wish to download in IE8. Click "Tools" then click "Compatibility view settings" Click "Add" to add the site to the list then lick close. Think you will then need to close IE8 and re-open it. Then try your download. Worth a try and can do no harm.
This worked!!! Thank you very much!!

Looking at the strange icons in the Op's Libraries I'd say that some of the Libraries default locations were changed which isn't a good idea.
I made no changes to the default locations - but I did add a further library to put any downloaded programs.

Every jpg and jpeg file on the hard drive that starts with "eng" IS going to show up, and I guarantee yours is there somewhere.
Sorry to disappoint you Mac but they were not downloaded - I don't know why.

This worked with no problems. Nice photo.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered suggestions on this thread. This seemingly minor issue was causing me some grief as I wanted to send these jpgs to family members and the inability to simply downlaod a file was immensely frustrating. Thank you all.

You are not alone, I understand what you are doing as I am having the same problem to which I have posted a thread, and it is very frustrating I must have about 150 records which I cannot find. To try and get around the problem in the meantime I have read that saving the files first to a USB then copying them to your computer which is what I am going to try but does not help solve the problem of where the files are and having to redo all what I have done.
