    Wow, thanks Gregrocker for the information in your post! That method of getting rid of the useless things that come standard will be very helpful.

    Jessejw, perhaps in time I will expand upon what I have. As far as AV I have Avast! and also CCleaner and Malwarebytes - all free downloads from Cnet, who highly recommended them.

    For sure on the tutorial section. Great info in there.

    Another thing I would heartily suggest is using Microsoft Security Essentials along with Malwarebytes that you already have. Those two have kept me bug free for well over a year.

    My own personal opinion would be to add another gig of ram. But, I'm a ram nut and obviously don't know the limitations of your computer.

    Thank you for kind suggestions, I am even passing them along to friends! I have peeked at the tutorial section and there is a great deal of information there. I admit I don't have an idea about some of the things there but all in good time and as they apply to my requirements and my computer's.
