Dreading 7000 expiration, scared of 7100.

7000 was near-unusable for me - any build is better than that

I have 7100 beta installed on eee pc 1000 ssd and that some preinstall compression to get on there it was a bit of a pain to get going. But the clock is ticking and have to do it. I have to tell you the beta is very very fast and I am sure 72xx will be very fast indeed.

JayNYC, I have 7232 x64 running on my Lenovo X61t tablet and it's AWESOME, far better than it was with 7000. Everything works great - screen rotations, tablet buttons, even the Ritepen recognition software which I prefer over the native.

Definitely check 7229 or 7232 out.
Likewise, 7232 x64 is AWESOME (fastest and best yet) on my Lenovo T61p. The difference is really noticeable. And this is on an "upgrade" install. Very happy I bothered to upgrade to 7232 from 7229. Well worth the minor tweaking that was required (took about 10 minutes after the install was finished). The upgrade install did take a couple of hours on my machine, however, probably because I have so many apps installed. Well worth the downtime though and much easier than spending the next couple of days reinstalling apps and settings.

But any of the recent builds are better than the original beta. No need to be afraid. Just do an easy upgrade install.

In 7000, I pretty much encountered a bug every 5-10 minutes or so. Startup felt like it took 5 minutes, lots of programs stopped responding, and didn't properly shut down most of the time. Once I upgraded to 7068, startup was around 30-45 seconds, some programs stopped responding, and maybe 1 or 2 problems, if not no, problems during shutdown. I clean installed 7077, 7100, 7201, and I am finally at 7229. Personally, I think 7229 is almost RTM quality.
