Users folder hidden

Hi there,

Im sorry if this is simple, but i was on my account trying to unhide a folder in the users folder and then it started updating all the folders, once it had done this i can now longer see any documents, music, pictures or anything, not even the recycling folder...everything has gone, but when i go show info on a song on itunes it says the usual (being where the music is stored:users/userdocs etc) but it does still let me play it, so i know its all there but just hidden!

My lack of computer skills and trying to be clever means i have no idea what i have done!

Please, how do get all my stuff back, many thanks for your help in advance, and happy new year!

No, no luck with that one! What could that mean? might everything have been deleted? shall i carry on the steps after and see if this helps, or not, or any other ideas?

Maybe they're hidden and you have hidden files and folders still hidden. Take a look here:

By the way i have tried to search through the forum for what i am looking for but the problem is...I dont know what im looking for as i dont really know what i have done, so this is all a great help, sorry for annoyance!

Ahhhhhhhh,

They have all apperaed once i selected the show hidden folders, but how do i un hide the folders as opposed to showing the hidden folders, im sure there will be a tutorial, if you could point me in the right direction,
