Having only pinned programs in Start Menu?

    Hi all!

I stumbled upon a Win8 screenshot. Doesn't matter if fake or not, but that made me think.

Right now my Start Menu has a mixture of pinned programs and something in the lines of "popular programs" that change as I use some of the programs more than others. Is it possible to have only only pinned programs in Start Menu?

I Believe your only allowed to have so many Programs in your start menu, I could be wrong but i think that if you where to right click on your taskbar and select properties then click start menu tab. And uncheck Both recently stored programs and items. Then just pin the programs and or items in the start menu you can then only pin items of your choice in start menu.

    1) Right click on start menu
    2) Left click on Properties
    3) choose Start Menu tab

Recent Items - Turn On or Off

Recent Programs - Turn On or Off

    Take note of red dots.

Yes right click taskbar go to properties , start menu tab , customize , then at start menu size change it to 0

Start Menu - Change Number of Recent Programs to Display
