Windows 7: HP Appear To Have Lost My Laptop. What Should I Do Now?

Yeah he gave it back to me but also tried to make me equally responsible for it's loss by saying i shouldn't have given it to him without signing anything. How he can say that when he never gave me anything to sign is beyond me.

I'm so glad you got your laptop back, but here's some words of advice for the future. We can't depend on other people to 'protect us' or to do the right thing. We have to protect ourselves. So if someone doesn't offer you a receipt for something, then YOU should ASK for one before handing over a valued object or when you're paying for something you're buying.

And by the way, it's also a good idea to actually READ the receipt to make sure that it is accurate!!!
