I feel the same way about downloads!
But at least with downloads the IE icon has an increasing green tint over it. (i don't know about FF if you use it )

The sad thing is, i can't see Microsoft changing that any time soon. A 'thumbnail' is just a static image

Shame, it would be a nice feature if it was a 'Live' preview
    Actually, it's is not static.

I've just checked with a Media Player and a DVD. In both normal and minimized states, I get a "live" video thumbnail of Media Player. I'm using Windows 7 x64 Build 7100

Pity I can capture that to show you...

It seems that only Video shows a live preview when WMP is minimised, Music just shows a static image (best tested at the end of a track). It must be programmed into Windows as the only 'real' need for a live preview is Video, i never sit watching Music or documents LOL

Installers can be a pain in the a$$ having to maximize all the time
It's looking like people haven't read this post, just the 1st one
Video shows a live preview when WMP is minimised

       Note
Live preview work for WMC too

I used this guide here. The file you download can be rewritten for other programs. I also got the FF glass effect here: https://www.sevenforums.com/customiza...ompletely.html
