Transfer Files from no-video (broken) W7 PC to another usable W7 pc?

How do I transfer files from my old video-card destroyed Sony to my new laptop using W7 also? I have the belkin easy transfer usb cable but that won't work since I need to activate it on the old pc. What other options do I have?

Best suggestion would be to take the hard drive out of the broken PC, install it in a USB connected hard drive enclosure and then connect it to the new PC and copy whatever files you want. It may cost you for the enclosure but with the "dead" PC it's what you will have to do.

You could also mount the old drive in the other computer and access it that way without using an external USB enclosure.

Provided you find a power cable from your PSU. And you also need that small cable to attach to the mobo.

If there are multiple drives in the box, you can also temporarily "borrow" those cables from a non-vital drive.

Use sticky Velcro to temporarily attach it some place.

I do this all the time for family and friends; it is VERY easy to pop the drive in a USB enclosure and let the other computer have access to the drive. It is by far the simplest solution to file system repair and file recovery.
