Why is RC1 telling me it's going to expire in 8 days?

I am running RC1 build 7100 and I am now receiving activation notices stating that I need to install a "released" version of Windows 7 Ultimate and to back up all of my data before the beta product expires.

Windows is showing a correct date of 6/23/09.

    Anyone else getting this??

I upgraded from beta to rc, so its prolly not that, theres a chance it is, but i wouldnt think so. I would try as BoonC said and put in the activation key again, or maybe even get another from the microsoft website

I am getting the same thing - I've already retried my RC key. I'll get a new one, see if that helps. Glad to know I'm not the only one!

if you upgraded a beta to the rc, theres likely problems with the registry.
the beta is about to expire, so my guess is that your system thinks its a beta.
try a clean install, with the 7100. it should fix it.

Nah that's whats jacked up, I did a clean install from beta to RC1. RC1 wouldn't let me upgrade from Beta, it actually told me I had to do a clean install.

How can I reactivate? Activation center shows it's activated already and genuine and all that bs.

Click on "Change product key" under Windows Activation in the System page.

Oh my god. I'm... argh. I had to recently rebuild my PC due to a MoBo failure - when I reinstalled windows I put back on build 7000. I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.
