Does it allow you to run off recovery media?

If it does, you need an external dvd writer, or usb flash drive to put it on.

Your netbook should have a factory Recovery partition. Look in the Manual on the manufacturer's Support Downloads webpage to find out how to run it.

You can also store a Win7 backup image externally to reimage your HD or a replacement if Win7 becomes irreparable. You can likely run the reimaging utility from Repair console if it is on F8 Advanced Boot Tools menu (check now) but if not you'll need to burn the System Repair CD or a Win7 installer ISO to flash stick using Win2Flash:

You would be able to see the partition in Disk Management. I'd suggest having a friend help you out (great way to learn) and try to make a plain vanilla USB boot flash drive that will reload the OS.
