    Little help here guys...


    I have a friend of mine that has a very infected computer that needs a fresh OS install. Problem is, my only way of installing it would be to make a bootable flash drive and install it that way. Now, i've messed with the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool, and that has produced no results. It just tells me "This is not a valid ISO file" a million times. So, I need a way of making my flash drive bootable with the ISO file copied to it. I can't use a virtual drive either because of the fact that it's going on a different computer. Also, that computer is so screwed up I don't think i'll even be able to use the OS thats on there right now. I won't know 100% what I can do with it till tomorrow, but please let me know if theres a way to boot an ISO file from a flash drive without Microsoft's USB tool.

    Update: I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and the OS I need to install onto my friend's computer is also Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit...

    Give this usb tool a try, it's worked for me when the MSFT one failed -

    Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

    Or you could try the manual method here - USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create?

    The askvg tool needs the win7 dvd/iso. There are 2 other methods.

    This one doesnt need anything external (method 2).

    USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

    This one needs the HP tool and boot image files (both linked).

    MS-DOS Bootable Flash Drive - Create

    When I run "A Bootable USB" it says "Format USB", so when I run that it gets to 80% and then sits, any idea what could be causing that?

    Nevermind, My flash drive just popped up and it says Bootable USB (R: ), I can boot the Win7 install from it now right?

    The method which always works for me for writing ISO to flash stick is installing UltraISO trial version: on File tab select Open, on Bootable tab select Write Disk Image, Format, Write. Boot under USB or HD's.

    You'll want to wipe the HD first of all infected code before install: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

    Then clean install following these illustrated steps: Clean Install Windows 7

    Other tips to get a purrfect install - use the ones which apply: re-install windows 7

I tryed to install GTA SanAndreas from an original CD but i can't. The game instals a half then i get a message something like this "The file ...... is missing. I don't think this problem is from the CD because it work on windows xp. So please help me!:cry::cry::cry:
