Try booting PW CD to see if you can Check File System and run a Surface Scan on the drive.

If it will repair at all, or will run the scans, then run the HD maker's own HD Diagnostic diagnostic/repair CD extended scan on the HD (unplug the others) followed by Disk Check run from the Win DVD Repair or Repair CD command line.

    That sounds encouraging.

If you had been able to recover the partition fully - everything would have been there in perfect condition.

Data recovery is the next step -the MT app. is pretty good - Let's hope most of the recovered files are usable.

(when you have finished that - just out of curiosity - try PW again and see if it fares any better than it did on the first try - you may as well run PW from within windows)

wow....so i saw it was frozen at 58% done so I canceled in order to check how far it had gotten...here's what it found. It found 47 partitions on the drive???? This drive has NEVER been formatted. So I have no clue what all this means.....Content Drive was the name of it....

What do you mean the drive was never formatted? How did you store data on it?

What exact steps have you taken to repair the HD?

Are you aware that HD's can be repaired using the bootable CD extended scan offered free by manufacturer? http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html

What were the exact results of Disk Check?

sorry I meant reformatted, I had just done that initial format, so I don't get why it's finding 47 lost partitions on the drive, most of which were over 100GB. I checked some of the files out on them and it's hard to tell what's what since file names aren't intact. Most of the pictures/documents were damaged, at least from the largest partition it found.
