    Can you try the external HD on another computer ? Maybe a friends computer ?

    As Doc suggests, checking the drive on another system is a good idea.

    It may also be, since your disk space is unchanged, that there is a disk error at play:

    Disk Check

    Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log

    guys i checked the driver in another system on a friends pc and again the same thing the folder appears like empty
    do u think i can run an error scan for my drive and see if there is a problem there?

    YES,

    Than Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

    Have look at this post:
    Cloning Laptop HDD

    If you have your external HDD connected via USB then probably you won't be able check SMART in this software but in the "Error Scan" tab in HD Tune you will be able to check all disk sectors (remember to uncheck Quick Scan box) if there are any damaged/bad sectors on your drive.

    ok my friend thank u i hope this could be helpful well now i put my hard disk for a error scan when it will
    finish if the problem remains i will try ur suggestions thanks again all of you for the help guys and sorry if i was
    pissfull i just want to have my files back

    well guys i checked my disk for errors it took 1 hour and when it finished i got a message that was saying that i have
    corrupted sectors and errors and that my windows can not fix them it deleted my folders with the basketball videos and my music but the disk space is the same the free space that means my files are there but how can i get them back?
