    I just don't get it?

Just done a complete backup of C drive. The thing is when that occured I later noticed that I had lost 700GB of information on both Y and Z drives...If this has gone permanently I feel like giving up computers for ever....What's the point if you just completely loose everything all the time...

Recuva might be able to help you out if you accidently deleted them.

Do you only have one user account, or are there multiple user accounts? Are they passworded?

The only person who has access to this computer is myself. But I think there may have been outside influence here...

I actually think so! Every bit of Information that I have inputted in the last 12 months has gone....I don't think that recuva will recover them...If it did it will take almost a week to recover them..

I'd go for the Recuva option - sounds worth the time.
