    Strange User issues

    Greets to all!

This in regards to a Win7 Enterprise 64b system. I've had problems installing various software packages, and it is appearing to be user-related.

When I try and install certain packages (demo for Corel Painter 11 for example), they throw up a dialog box asking if you agree to various terms. The 'bug' is that this dialog box shows up BLANK, and there is no way to interact with it, and I have to abort the install - often by using Task Manger and killing the process. This has happened for a number of install-attempts in other programs as well.

I logged in as Admin (and later as a new user with admin rights) and did the installs - and voila! - the dialog box appears as it should and the install ran fine. The Painter 11 demo ran fine as well.

When I re-log in as the original user and run the Painter 11 demo, it gets into a very squirrely mode - a blank dialog appears (after a great deal of time) and the cursor is jittering all over the screen - and I have to go to Task Manger and kill the Painter process.

It would appear there is something munged up in this user - can anybody offer any ideas on where to look? It appears whenever an app puts up the dialog box that asks if you agree with the license (or similar) this user has something wrong that won't let it run... Any clues????

Can you run the executable as an admin? Did you verify that this application is Windows 7 compatible? What about running the executable in Compatibility Mode...assuming you answered yes to my second question?

Yes - the main app giving me the issue is Corel Painter 11. As I said in my post, it runs fine under the Admin user, and then I created a new user (with admin rights) and the app (and others) installs and run just fine.

It is only when log in as the one user that I get blank dialog panels and odd behaviour. The issue seems to be centered around the dialog box requesting EULA-type info that I get the blank one with the one user.
