Boot up

Hi
I would like my Toshiba laptop to boot up completely without stopping at the page to click on Administrator User. I have unchecked the "User must enter username and password to use this computer" but it still stops at that page where I have to click on the administrator to complete the boot up.
What do I have to change to bypass that page and boot up to the desktop?
Thanks in advance for the help
Peter
PS: what is the format for the signature?

Hello Peter, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Did you also enter the password and unchecking that option. The tutorial below can help give more details on how to do this.

Log On Automatically at Startup

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi! stiggie, welcome to 7F

Did you do it exactly like this?
  • Start, then Run, type - control userpasswords2 -
  • Select the account you want to logon to automatically.
  • Then uncheck the box "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."
  • Apply, then OK.

You may still have to type the user account name and password just one more time to complete the process.

Hi! Brink, I tried looking for a tutorial, but sometimes it is hard to figure out the terminology used to describe one.

I'm happy you beat me to it.

LOL, no problem Steve.

John has added a Google search box just recently at the top of the Tutorials homepage that will search through them to help make it easier to find what folks are looking for. Hopefully that will work better than just using the index.
