    Forum browse to Library oddity....

    Hi,

This is kind of an odd issue I have just discovered, and I'm not sure how to describe it properly.

In my Pictures Library, I have one location with several pictures - all OK, no problem.
--- > see the attachement with the red tick

If I want to add an attachment to this post using these forums (the paper-clip icon), and I use the browse option to go to my Pictures Library, I see a completely different structure to my Pictures Library.
--- > see the attachement with the red cross

My location with my photo's doesn't appear to exist, and instead I see the two default folders that come with the Windows 7 installation. Infact, its very strange : I physically deleted the nVidia Corporation and Sample Pictures folders, and they do not exist when I view the Libraries in Windows Explorer.

To double-check this, I opened a blank Word document, and inserted an image by browsing to Pictures Library : the library contents display correctly as I expect.

If I browse to my other Libraries (e.g. Music or Investments), then I see the correct file structure -- its just the Pictures Library that is behaving oddly (too many files possibly and the browse window cannot refresh???).

So.....I'm puzzled. Why does browsing from the forum attachement option show a different folder/file structure to the one in Windows Explorer?

Can anyone shed light on this?

    Regards,
    Golden

Is it because in the forum dialog it is set to arrange by folder and in explorer to arrange by month?

Good guess Kado, but nope.....same issue.

Mmm...I wonder if the forum dialog is browsing to a different user? Since I'm the only user, I wonder if its going to the Admin account.........

Mmm Strange. Could it be some sort of permissions problem.

Also what happens if you look directly in your My pictures. Do you get a difference then?

Of course. I should have remembered. I had a similar problem with my Documents library a few months ago. I put it down to my fiddling about with the libraries.

It is interesting though that the dialog only shows your personal content and not the whole library content. I guess that it is because it is looking from the internet.

Something is really odd here...........this only happens with Pictures. Any other Library (Music etc.) behaves as I would expect

Was it showing you personal content or the public content?

In the forum browse window? It was showing image #2 - the one with nVidia Corporation and Sample Pictures. I guess that means Public content, right?
