    Microsoft half off for upgrade

I would like to take advantage of this offer they have sent me for the half off pre-order for the upgrade version and I have a few questions.

I have Vista Ultimate now and never use Bit Locker so basically the 7 premium version would be about the same as what I am utilizing right now since I don't Locker right? They don't seem to be offering the 7 Ultimate version upgrade in this deal this is why I am asking. I also only plan on using one language which is another option the Ultimate version has that I don't need.

Secondly, do these upgrade version include 32 and 64 bit versions in one package? I have looked and the offer does not specify which one it was or if Win 7 includes both. I prefer to use 64 bit which is what I have now.

Lastly, no one might know this yet but can the upgrade version be used to do a stand alone install as long as you have a qualifying product DVD on hand? I know older versions of Windows you could do this with ( I believe ME would do it as longas you had a Win 98 disk to verify). I ask this because I am planning an upgrade soon and I ask this question for that reason because I am using a system builder version and will have to buy another copy of Vista for an upgraded system (unless my motherboard would die by chance).

That is everything I needed to know! Thank you and that version comparison was much more detailed than the other one I looked at. Looks like Premium will do me fine.

Just placed my order with Newegg...really can't beat this deal for half off especially since I will definately be upgrading to it anyways.

'Upgrade or Full' What is the difference..

I keep posting that link today. That explains how to do a clean install off an Upgrade disk. You don't need the previous OS disk I don't think.
